Japan fans Crying after World Cup exit to Belgium

HEARTBROKEN Japan fans are flooding social media after they were sent crashing out of the World Cup.

World Cup fans were left gutted after underdogs Japan let a 2-0 lead slip to lose 3-2.

An injury time winner from Belgium’s Nacer Chadli spelled a crushing end to Japan’s World Cup hopes.

Several Japanese players were left in tears on the pitch after a bittersweet night of football.

The Asian side looked dominant as they led Belgium 2-0 after 69 minutes.

Alan Shearer was full of praise for Japan’s desire, claiming they were still trying to win the game up until the final whistle.

“Belgium won the game but japan won our hearts,” wrote Abhishk Daga.
“Japan did so well and they should be proud! They showed the world today that with team work, strategy and ambition you can face anything and hold your ground. Inspiring,” said Anashi Sensei.

“Tip of the cap to Japan and Belgium. Both went all out for victory,” added another.

“No time wasting to take game into ET or PK's, many will label it naive but it was a breath of fresh air. That was a legit all time WC classic.”

Proving to be one of the best ever World Cups, the tournament has left many feeling like “anything could happen”.

Japanese fans furiously shared anime-related memes throughout the game, willing their team on.

“Take my energy,” wrote one Twitter user alongside a clip of cartoon character generating power.

“I want to cut out my entire heart and give it to the Japanese team, their tears are like daggers in my stomach,” added another.

Although social media was largely fully focused on Japan – many took time to appreciate Belgium’s comeback.

One user said: “Tonight, Belgium has made the lesson clear. No matter how impossible it seems, keep pushing.”
