Trump speaks out for FIRST TIME over alleged romp with adult star Stormy Daniels & denied

US PRESIDENT Donald Trump has strongly denied knowing about any so-called hush money being paid to adult film star Stormy Daniels over their alleged secret romp.

Trump said aboard Air Force One on Thursday that he did not know about a $130,000 (£92,846) payment made by his lawyer to adult performer Ms Daniels.

He also said he did not know where, or why his attorney, Michael Cohen, got the money to pay Daniels either.
It was his first public remarks about Ms Daniels’ allegations.

“No, I don’t know,” Trump told reporters when asked if he knew where the money came from.
Mr Cohen has said he paid Daniels out of his own pocket.

Ms Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, last month sued Cohen in a bid to be released from the non-disclosure agreement she signed just days before Trump was elected president in exchange for the payment from him.

The adult performer said she and Trump had sex once in 2006, when he was married, but that they kept in touch for a period of time.

But, Ms Daniels has insisted the agreement is not valid because Trump never signed it.

Meanwhile, Michael Avenatti, Daniels’ attorney, claimed the president’s comments had strengthened their case.
He responded on Twitter by saying: “The strength of our case just went up exponentially. You can’t have an agreement when one party claims to know nothing about it”.

The White House has denied that Trump had sex with Daniels.

Trump and Mr Cohen are currently in litigation with Ms Daniels over a non-disclosure agreement that she signed in exchange for the payment in 2016.

Earlier this week, Trump’s attorney filed a motion seeking to move the case out of a courtroom into private arbitration.
