Poldark season 4 cast: Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson spotted as plot twist REVEALED?

Poldark season four is weeks away but Aidan Turner, Eleanor Tomlinson and other members of the cast have been spotted filming behind-the-scenes in new footage posted by one fan from the set.

The latest instalment of the BBC's Poldark is set to burst onto screens as early as next month, but while fans wait some more footage of the cast filming has been revealed.

The series last left off in season three with the revelation that Demelza Poldark (played by Eleanor Tomlinson) had cheated on her husband Ross (Aidan) with the dashing Lieutenant Hugh Armitage (Josh Whitehouse).

While the pair will have plenty of work on their hands to heal their marriage in the next season, it was also hinted they might spend much of it apart while Ross heads to London to carve a career in politics.

In the meantime, YouTube fan Ethan Menear has compiled a series of clips from the show’s Cornwall locations which he filmed himself.

The owner revealed that while “security was extremely tough this year” in Charlestown, he struggled to film in some “rather awkward places in order to get the shot”.

The clip depicts 23-year-old actress Eleanor, and Luke Norris (Dr Dwight Enys) sharing an excited hug on-set as they practiced their lines together.
It also shows star Aidan, 34, riding his horse in the rain.

Fully clad in his period costume, Aidan appears to be getting into character for an intense scene as he rides past a mystery man - possibly an extra - in the background. But who could it be?

There are also various images of other background cast and sets from the fourth season of the hit show.

It was revealed that the next offering will feature a host of new faces in the cast, and they will provide plenty of drama for heartthrob Ross.

The series’ brand new villain Monk Adderley will be played by 33-year-old Max Bennett.

Osborne Whitworth (Christian Brassington), also known as “Ozzy”, will not be going anywhere though as his mother Lady Whitworth arrives on the coast.

The terrifying character will be played by The Thick of It star Rebecca Front.

Executive producer Debbie Horsfield has also teased a troubling future for many of the fan-favourite characters on the series.

Speaking to Radio Times, she shared: “There are some wonderful affirming storylines.

“And some utterly tragic ones coming up."

Fans would be heartbroken if one member of the show's main couple was killed off in Winston Graham’s novels’ adaptation.

Could a supporting character face a bittersweet ending instead?

The writer went on to say: “It's very much Cornwall-based but there are so many characters and flavours and one of those flavours is London. That's a thing we haven’t really seen.

"There are whole sequences where we go to London and that’s a really exciting new flavour to it. We will meet real characters, like [Prime Minister] William Pitt and [anti-slavery campaigner] William Wilberforce.”

Poldark season four is expected to air on BBC One this spring. (Express UK)
