Colombia’s Carlos Bacca: Egypt is a tough team even without Salah

Colombia and AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca described the Pharaoh as a difficult team even with the absence of key player Mohamed Salah.

Egypt will clash with Colombia in a friendly match on June 1st in Milan, Italy as part of the final preparations for the two national teams before they head to Russia.

Head coach Jose Pekerman will be aiming to take Colombia beyond their last achievement in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil when they were able to reach the tournament’s quarter-finals. They will be facing Poland, Senegal, and Japan in group D.

“We know that Egypt is a tough team, even right now as they’re going through a difficult phase without their main player Mohamed Salah,” Bacca told the Colombian Football Federation website.

Bacca also commented on the recent injury the Liverpool winger sustained during the final UEFA Champions League game, saying: “I hope he recovers from his injury on time for the World Cup, the tournament is waiting for the best players.”

After facing Uruguay on June 15 in their opening match, the Pharaohs will clash with hosts Russia on June 19, and conclude the group stage against Saudi Arabia on June 25. (Kingfut)
