WWE Raw Results: News, Notes After The Undertaker Fails To Answer John Cena's WrestleMania Challenge

John Cena once again called out The Undertaker. Once again, he did not get his wish as his persistent challenges and ubiquitous social media taunts continue to go unanswered Monday night on Raw's go-home show for WrestleMania 34.

The show also featured an opening segment, where Stephanie McMahon put Ronda Rousey through a table, more physicality between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns and an excellent but ultimately forgettable one-on-one match between Seth Rollins and Finn Balor.

Raw's viewership increased last week, and common logic dictates it should continue to do so on the go-home show of WrestleMania, which is traditionally one of the most anticipated Raw broadcasts of the year. But Monday's Raw will go head-to-head with the NCAA National Championship between college basketball powerhouses Villanova and Michigan, so it'll be interesting to see how this affects Raw's ratings.

Opening Segment between Stephanie McMahon, Triple H, Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey (YouTube Views: 59,899)

When fans cheer for Ronda Rousey she immediately defaults to a giddy pageant contestant.

I remember a time when Triple H was the biggest heel to the most hardcore fans, but now that all of them have aged, Stephanie McMahon as a boss lady has run laps around him.

The Coach sure was smooth out there when he didn't have Michael Cole and Corey Graves undercutting his every sentence.

This segment would have been so much more interesting if all the Twitter questions came from Virgil's Twitter feed.

On a scale of Spike Dudley to Shane McMahon, Ronda Rousey's first table bump was a solid Mae Young.

Bayley vs. Sonya Deville (YouTube Views: 4,288)

WWE is trying its damnedest to convince fans that either Bayley or Sasha Banks will win the WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal. That's why Becky Lynch has to be considered the sneaky favorite.

It feels like Sasha Banks has been trying to turn heel for the past two weeks, but WWE keeps undoing it by having her fight Absolution.

Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins (YouTube Views: 14,141)

The Miz's baby was just born and he's already back on Raw, but in all fairness, he has already spent more time with his child than many wrestlers given their insane travel schedule.

On the go-home show of WrestleMania, one of the biggest heels in the company has gone into proud papa overdrive due to real life. It's cool to see Miz brimming about his daughter but this match officially has no heat.

The Miz can still be a super heel even though he's a new father. He just has to turn into that guy who thinks he can tell you how to live your life because he's a father now.

I bet on WWE's run sheet, this segment was named "Miz talks fatherhood while two former top stars roll around."

Seth Rollins and Finn Balor worked their tails off but when they watch this match back and hear the term "swaddle" on commentary, they're going to be so sad.

Seth Rollins and Finn Balor worked their tails off but when they watch this match back and hear the terms "swaddle," "poop" and "pee" on commentary, they're going to be so sad.

Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor would be more memorable and relevant if it happened this weekend in any promotion other than WWE.

Sheamus and Cesaro Confront Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman is really fighting hard to unseat John Cena as the biggest troll of WrestleMania season.

Brains Strowman could double Bruan Strowman's chances of winning the Greatest Royal Rumble. WWE has to fill up those 50 spots somehow.

Matt Hardy vs. Goldust

Matt Hardy had plenty of chances to take a swipe at Michael Cole's headset but chose to ignore him. So am I to believe Matt Hardy is a madman who has the ability to show composure?

Hardy is much more popular now that WWE is beginning to get behind the Broken Universe, even if WWE promotes it with its tongue firmly in cheek.

John Cena Calls out The Undertaker (Again)

A part of me really hoped The Undertaker would continue to lay dormant because it would have been a cool visual to see John Cena hold his breath and stomp his feet.

John Cena admirably sealed the holes in his storyline by saying he didn't want to take a spot from a full-time star. If he's hoping the adults who take wrestling too seriously will now shut their mouths about him, good luck with that.

I'm willing to suspend my disbelief for Cena not having a road to WrestleMania, but don't give me this "happy fan" nonsense. There's literally no such thing as a happy wrestling fan.

So, in kayfabe, The Undertaker couldn't be bothered to have a match against John Cena but he thinks if the good people of Atlanta want it bad enough it has to happen?

Elias vs. Heath Slater

Now that Elias and John Cena "don't have plans for WrestleMania," they could just go to a local jazz club in New Orleans and sing the blues.

Alexa Bliss and Mickie James vs. Asuka and Dana Brooke

Nia Jax's final sales pitch for WrestleMania took the tones of Hallmark motivational card, a rebellious teenager on Maury and She-Hulk. In that order.

If I was Asuka, and I had a winning streak for this long and I had to team up with Dana Brooke, there's no way I'm letting her start this match, let alone tag in.

Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns: Final Face-Off

I didn't know whether WWE's also-rans were acting as a human security wall or if they were protesting Brock Lesnar's "disrespect for this business" in support of Roman Reigns.

Paul Heyman continues to use WWE's precious television time to negotiate an imminent deal between Brock Lesnar and UFC.

Kurt Angle doesn't even have control of his own human shield, let alone the entire locker room.

Tonight's Raw broadcast from Atlanta featured chants of "Cena" and "let's go Roman." Expect different from a WrestleMania crowd that will be more interested in being the center of attention.
